GARVISON, 74, of 1505 Sunset Drive, Rochester, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday at her residence. Born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Carl William and Leona B. Bunnell Koons. She attended Washington Township Schools and Lew Wallace High School in Gary. She lived here since 1954 when she moved from Hobart. On July 19, 1954, she married Donald T. Garvison in Crown Point. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1996. She retired from Bounsell Shoe Store, where she worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of First Christian Church of Rochester and the CWF of the church. She was also a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Rochester. She was also employed by the Rochester School Corp. in the Food Service Department and had also worked at the former Dew Drop Inn, The NewsStand and 3-D. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. Survivors include two sons, Russell A. Rogers and wife Sherry, Rochester, and Douglas A. Garvison and wife Charlotte (Susie), Rochester; two sisters, Maxine Badger, Hobart, and Mary L. Barnett, Rochester; one brother, Donald DeWayne Koons and wife Marsha, Rochester; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 1101 Madison St., Rochester, with the Rev. Woody Slade officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Indiana 14 West, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
