Monday, January 4, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas. Mrs. Dubray was born February 26, 1937 at Arcadia, Kansas the daughter of Harry and Violet K. Compton Moody. Marilyn was employed as a clerical secretary at Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. and Pittsburg State University from 1986 to 2003 when she retired. She lived in the Liberal area most of her life. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1955. She married Tony J. Dubray Jr. on April 6, 1957 at the Christian Church in Mulberry, Kansas. Mr. Dubray preceded her in death August 2, 2020. Marilyn was known for being the nicest, kindest lady who always cared more about others than herself. She was dedicated to sending cards to those who she felt would need being remembered. She spent the several years taking good care of Tony during his declining health until his passing in August 2020. She loved her grandchildren and did fun things with them. She seldom missed a ballgame or track meet to cheer them on. She always donated her time and food to the Tony Dubray Classic which meant the world to her. She was so proud that it was named after Tony and that it became such a successful tournament. She loved her great grandchildren dearly and was lovingly known as GiGi Boo. Marilyn will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She was a member of the Mindenmines Christian Church where in years past was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Liberal Booster Club, and Liberal Civic Club. Survivors include two daughters, Cherie McNaught and Gina Dodson and husband Daryl all of Liberal, Missouri, five grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Eldredge, Katie Smith, Amanda (Zac) Short, Brian McNaught, and Kori Dodson, great grandchildren, Scottie Eldredge, Tanner Short, Channing Eldredge, and Drew Short, sister-in-law, Margie (Jerry) Rhodes of Liberal, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony and her parents Harry and Violet Moody. Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Pastor Joel Dermott officiating. Jason Eldredge will give the eulogy. Friends may call 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Thursday at the Bedene Chapel. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kansas. Masks and social distancing will be required. The family suggests memorials to the D.O.G.S. Foundation (Scholarship Fund) PO Box 95, Liberal, Missouri 64762. Donations may also be sent to the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
