Description	:	ASHTON, MARION — Marion Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Johnston, was born at Chadron, Neb., October 19, 1896. She died at Hastings, Neb., March 23, 1930. Her childhood days were spent on a farm near Geneva. She graduated from the Geneva High School, after which she finished a business course at Lincoln, following which she was employed at the state university until her marriage to H. L. Read More	ASHTON, MARION — Marion Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Johnston, was born at Chadron, Neb., October 19, 1896. She died at Hastings, Neb., March 23, 1930. Her childhood days were spent on a farm near Geneva. She graduated from the Geneva High School, after which she finished a business course at Lincoln, following which she was employed at the state university until her marriage to H. L. Ashton on April 15, 1918. Mr. and Mrs. Ashton moved to Montana where they proved up on a homestead. They returned to Geneva in 1921 for about a year, then moving to Hastings for two years, then to Clay Center for four years and then returning to Hastings. To this union were born three children, Courtney Sue, ten; Charles Franklin, seven; and Marion Josephine, four. She leaves her husband, three children, mother, sister, and a host of friends. The funeral service was held at the Frank B. Ashton residence in Geneva, Neb., at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, and was conducted by Rev. T. C. Lewis of Clay Center.
