She attended Niobrara schools and Wayne State Teachers College. On May 28, 1928 she was married to William C Rose. They lived in Niobrara for many years and Mrs Rose operated the Rose grocery store. They moved to Valparaiso, IN about thirteen years ago where Mrs Rose and her husband operated the Rose Mobile Home Court. Mr Rose passed away about a year ago. Mrs. Rose, favorably and more familiarly known simply as Marion Rose, passed away suddenly at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valpariso, Indiana, March 8, 1973 after a short illness. She is survived by two sons, Mr & Mrs Wm R Rose of Lansing, IL, and Terrance of Sacramento, CA, five grandchildren, Deborah, Laurie and Bill of Lansing; Tammy and Cindy of Sacramento; one sister, Mrs Leo Cushman of Belle Plaine, KS. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, 1973 at the Presbyterian church in Niobrara with Rev Edward Jackson in charge. Music was by the Presbyterian choir. Interment was in the family plot in L'Eau Qui Court cemetery with Hengstler's in charge. Pallbearers were Leland McGraw, Richard Fritz, Lester Fitch, Rex Diez, Woodrow Pease, Fulton Olson. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral included her sons and families from Illinois and California, also Mr & Mrs Maurice Monette, Bruno, MN; Mr & Mrs Wade Roberts, Moose Lake, MN; Mr & Mrs Leo Cushman and family, Belle Plaine, KS."
