Church Monday afternoon The death of Marion McCrory, which occurred at his home before last Saturday shortly afternoon, came as a shock to his many relatives and friends. Although he had been ill recently, it was believed that he was recovering and his condition did not appear critical until but a few days before his passing. Mr. McCrory had lived for many years in this vicinity. During most of those years he was engaged in farming but for a time was in the feed business in Moravia. At one time he was in partnership with Mr. Tisue, and for a ten year period, from 1909 to 1919, operated the feed business by himself on the east side of the square. Thus through his business connections and long life here he had established a wide acquaintance. Obituary Marion McCrory, son of Winfield and Mary McCrory, was born in Davis County, Iowa, February 10, 1873, and passed away at his home in Moravia, Iowa, April 27, 1935, at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 17 days. When only nine years of age his mother was taken from him by death and he was reared to manhood by his grandparents. He came to Moravia as a young man and spent the rest of his life in this vicinity. In 1893 he was married to Anna Wright. To this union six children were born, William, Minnie, Ethel, Georgia, George and Mattie. His wife and two of the children, William and Georgia, preceded him in death. In 1919 he married again to Delia Barnes, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Dan Brackett. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death. They are George, William, Selva, Nettie, Leoni, and Maggie. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife; four children, Minnie, Ethel, George, Mattie; two stepsons, William and Cleo Barnes; two grandchildren, Clell Brisendine and Marion Eugene Skinner; three brothers, J. F. of Fairfield, Edward of El Paso, Texas, Allie of Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Moravia Methodist church, Rev. J. C. Behrens officiating. Interment was in the Moravia Cemetery.
