Later he went to Little Knife School Dist. #1 in Dunn Co. ND, near Marshall where his father was on the school board for 11 years. Read More	Marion Senff was born 21 Feb 1901 near Oriska, Barnes Co., ND, to Charles Edward & Lydia Emma (Brase) Senff. Marion attened Public School #4-Dist. 7, Stark Co., ND in 1910. Later he went to Little Knife School Dist. #1 in Dunn Co. ND, near Marshall where his father was on the school board for 11 years. The Post Office in the area was named 'Sennef' and was on Charleys homestead. Marion, brother Shermnan and sister Emma were all born near Oriska, before the family moved to western North Dakota and lived in Hebron in Morton Co., where brothers Harold and Leon were born. Then Charley and Lydia homesteaded in Dunn Co., near Marhsall where they lived for 11 years until 7 years of drought drove them out and they lost their farm to the bank. The family moved back to eastern ND to Argusville in Cass Co. for a year and then rented a farm in Barnes Co., Laketown Twp., near Dazey, where they lived until they retired. Hazel, Vera, and Raymond were all born on the homestead. Marion married Nina Sylvia Olson on 26 Sep 1925 in Fargo, Cass Co., ND. They had 3 children, Robert, Betty & Beverly. Marion and Nina made their home in Fargo, ND until 1939. Marion was a Gas Station Owner and Mechanic who owned his Garage in Georgetown, Minnesota until he retired in 1961. When he retired he had his brother, Col. Leon Senff, who was a licensed Auctioneer, fly back to MN from OR and cry the sale when he sold out his business. Marions son Bob, daughter Betty, brothers Sherman, and Raymond (Jack) all lived in Georgetown at various times and worked with Marion in his garage, which was always busy. Marion died just short of his 63rd birthday. Him and Nina had moved to Tioga, ND near their dau. Betty when they retired. They did a little traveling out to Oregon and Washington to visit siblings on both the Senff and Olson sides of the family. They were back in Georgetown visiting their other daughter Beverly when Marion had a heart attack while sitting on the couch watching TV with his grandchildren, he was transported to St. Johns Hospital in Fargo, ND where he was pronounced dead. Marion, Nina,& Bob are all buried near Marions parents, Charley and Lydia in Hillside Cemetery in Valley City, ND. Marion was a good natured fellow, quiet, and did not use swear words, as did his brothers. He died quietly, as he had lived. Marion played fiddle in the family band. Marion was survived by his wife, Nina of Tioga, ND; his son Robert of Sellwood, OR; his daughters, Betty (George) Neset of Tioga, ND, and Beverly (Robert) Quam of Georgetown, MN; four brothers, Sherman (Marie) Senff of Portland, OR, Harold (Mable) Senff of Hermiston, OR, Leon (Betty) Senff of Beaverton, OR, and Raymond 'Jack' (Helen) Senff of Portland, OR; sisters: Hazel (Carl) Mohr of Centerville, SD, and Vera Senff-Davis of Portland, OR; ands 14 grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Emma Senff-Thorne-Maruska.
