Burial will be in Summit Hill Cemetery in Pocahontas, Iowa. ------------------------------------------------- Marjorie A. Wood - age 78, of Pocahontas, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011. After a courageous 8 year battle with cancer, Marge passed away at the Pocahontas Community Hospital with her family at her side. Marjorie Ann Fohlin was born November 23, 1932, in Stratford, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Jernquist) Fohlin. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1950 and went on to Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. After graduating Marge taught 2nd grade in Rolfe where she met Daryl. Marge and Daryl were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on Good Friday, April 16, 1954. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. For the past 50 years Marge and Daryl have worked side by side at Woods Super Market. Marge was an avid reader and enjoyed the many family gatherings throughout the years. Marge was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Daryl of Pocahontas; children, Rita Wood (Kim Ferry) of Earlham; Curt (Bonnie) Wood of Pocahontas; Pam (Brian) Sullivan of Earlham; Kent (Kim) Wood of Pocahontas; Cathy (Dan) Halstead of Lakeville, MN; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Eklund of Prescott, AZ. Marge was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Fohlin.
