She was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Yelm, to Chester and Minnie (Morehead) Thompson. She graduated in 1937 from Yelm High School, Yelm. She attended the University of Puget Sound. She married Roger Eide on Jan 28, 1940, in Yelm. Mrs. Eide retired in I978 after 30 years service as postal clerk and postmaster in Yelm. She also was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Yelm and a 54 year member of the Rebekkah lodge. She also was a member of the postal union the Golden Age Club and was a former member of the Deschutes Grange and Eastern Star. Mrs. Eide enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing bridge and bowling. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at her place at Summit lake. She is survived by her husband Roger, Yelm, a son Hal, Yelm, two daughters, Wanda Fox, Olympia, and Dirinda Venneaux, Mt. Vernon, a brother, Chester Thompson Jr., Brookings, Ore., a sister, Verna Reichel, Yelm, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
