They later moved to San Francisco for several years, where they lived by or with her paternal grandparents. Marge missed the freedoms of living in a small town and hated the rules of living in the city--but loved the cable cars. Her family moved to the Sacramento area and her father built their home on Oregon Drive. Marge attended C.K. McClatchy High School. Marge loved to dance and was a fun person. She was introduced to George Lynch by his sisters Florence and Hazel. George was serving in the US Navy. They had a two-week engagement and timed their wedding day around his shore leave. Marge and George raised nine children (born within 10 years) until his untimely death. Marge worked for several families as the housekeeper/caterer and worked at a couple of fabric stores. Marge was very knowledgeable in sewing and was invaluable with her advice to shoppers. Marge started making Raggedy-Ann/Andy dolls (in varying sizes) to make extra money at Christmas time. Her brother-in-law Paul would take orders at the DMV State building where he worked and would deliver and collect. Some years ago, Marge suffered a stroke and was no longer able to work. Initially, they diagnosed that she would not be able to walk or talk. She overcame the odds and did both. In her later years, she suffered from Alzheimer's/dementia.
