Marge and Chet also raised her sister's daughter, Marilyn, when she was orphaned at the age of ten. Marge and Chet also raised her sister's daughter, Marilyn, when she was orphaned at the age of ten. She was a life member of United Methodist Women and a 62 year member of the United Methodist Church. Other memberships included Royal Neighbors, Bee Kensington and O G. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, her husband in 1964 and her son in 1981 She is survived by her niece, Marilyn Willson and her husband. Bill, of North Platte and their daughters Kim Whitehouse and her husband Bob and Kristie Plugge and her husband Guy all of Omaha. Also her daughter-in-law, Paula Babbitt, grandson Curt Babbitt, and granddaughter Angie Babbitt, all of Lincoln, three great-grandsons, a sister, Sara Carbaugh and her husband Andy of Greeley, CO, a brother Charles (Stan) Blackman and his wife, Wilma, of Magalia, CA, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 8, 1991 at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with Rev Jerry Schwarz, officiating Special music was provided by granddaughter, Kristie Plugge, who sang "On Eagles' Wings" and "Be Not Afraid" June Vannier was the organist. Pallbearers were Curt Babbitt, Bill Willson, Charles Cookson, Larry ten Bensel, Dean ten Bensel and Eric Eisenhart. Interment was in the Arapahoe Cemetery with Williamson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements A memorial has been established to the Arapahoe Senior Center.
