Marge was the 14th of her father's 16 children, the 3rd of her mother's 5. Her oldest sister was born in 1894, her youngest brother graduated from high school in 1948. She was an aunt and valued friend to me. Her encouragement in my family research endeavors was invaluable. She was my genealogy mentor. I will miss her a lot. Dennis Brumm (03/26/2015). *** Obituary, published at Hagele & Honts Funeral Home web site (Mediapolis/Morning Sun, Iowa), with several additions and clarifications by Dennis Brumm: Marjorie Kimble, age 87, of Morning Sun, died Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. The daughter of Samuel and Jennie "Reil" Hannah Walker, she was born on September 18, 1927, in Morning Sun. She married Trevor Mozart "Trev" Kimble Sr., on May 11, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1996. Marge attended Wapello schools. She had worked at various locations, notably at the Morning Sun Manor and as a reporter for the Morning Sun News-Herald. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Garden Club, both of Morning Sun. Marge enjoyed genealogy, gardening, cooking, reading, and visiting with friends. Her family includes a daughter, Becky Murphy, and her husband, Pat Murphy, of Marion; a son, Trevor Kimble Jr., and his wife, Bonnie (Gadbaw) Kimble, of Morning Sun; five grandchildren, Gerald Kimble (Jr.), Sherrie Dotson, Kathy Kimble, Karen Jennings, and Brian Murphy; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Walker, and his wife, Ethel (Lucas) Walker, of Texas; and a sister, Viola Van Houten, of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trevor, Sr.; a son, Gerald (Sr.); thirteen siblings and half siblings: John Henry Walker, Rosalie Reil Walker; Elsie Walker, George Walker, Maude Fortner, Ross Walker, Cliff Walker, Myrtle Dotson, Paul Walker, Sam Walker, Leota Brumm, Ruth Rebecca Broeker, and Bill Walker; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Verl Van Houten; Verona, Vinnie, Marguerite, Betty, and Margaret Walker; Roy Fortner, Ted Dotson, Bill Brumm, and Wally Broeker. The funeral ceremony for Marjorie Kimble will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun with Reverend Jon Evans officiating. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, followed by a fellowship lunch at the church. Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service, and the Mellinger Public Library.
