Description	:	Funeral services for Mark Blair, 74, were held on October 9, in Slininger Chapel, with Rev. Clinton B. Meininger, pastor of Central Christian Church in Jefferson, officiating. Casket bearers were Fred Fillman, Carl Peterson, Wilbur Meyer, Harry Lightfoot, Fred Fritz and Archie Christensen. Mrs. Eldon Kinsman was at the organ. Interment was in Paton Township Cemetery. Mark Blair, son of James Drummond and Helen Nellie (Perrin) Blair, was born December 23, 1891 in Jackson, Tenn. The family came to Iowa when Mark was only nine months, and he had since made his home in Iowa, with the exception of about five years. On July 14, 1915 he was united in marriage to Myrtle May Wright at the home of her parents near Farlin. To this union six children were born. The couple spent the first five years of their marriage near Richey, Mont., where they homesteaded. The couple lived on a farm near Paton and Farlin for 34 years, and since 1958, they have made their home in Paton. As a small boy he joined the Christian Church at Farlin. He was a past member of Paton Lions Club and Modern Woodmen of America. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965. Mark died October 6, 1966 at the Greene County Hospital, Jefferson, at the age of 74 years, 9 months, 13 days. Mr. Blair was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cora Swiss. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; his children: Paul E. of Jefferson, Glenn D. of Paton, Earl D. of Grinnell, Mildred (Mrs. Carlton Laird) of Lombard, IL; Lyle L. and Wayne D. both of Paton; two sisters: Mrs. Gladys Averill of Jefferson and Mrs. Clifford (Myrtle) Archer of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers: Ralph P. and Frank P. Blair, both of Sidney, Mont., 15 grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
