Description	:	Marlo M. Sorensen, 84, of Vermillion died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at Vermillion Sioux Valley Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, with the Rev. Judith Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery, Vermillion. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Marlo M. Sorensen was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Vermillion to Morris and Dorothy (Hoffman) Mortensen. She attended school in Vermillion and worked in Jacobsen's Bakery. Marlo married Verner Sorensen on May 22, 1937, in Elk Point, S.D. Verner died on Oct. 14, 1994. She spent her married life helping her husband on their farm south of Vermillion, where she continued to live until her death. Marlo was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to the Island Birthday Club and Senior Citizens. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, needlework and playing cards. She was well-known for her warm hospitality and homemade baked goodies. Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor and her husband, Maurice Nelson of Gayville, S.D.; three sons, Richard and his wife, Barbara, and James and his wife, Mariella, all of Vermillion, and Marvin and his wife, Myrna of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey and her husband, John Gall of Yankton, S.D.; two brothers-in-law, Ray Hatt and Henry Russell; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Mortensen. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. Sorensen, Marlo M.
