The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, November 30, 1961 ============================= Marquis Edgar Thurber, son of Oscar and Carrie Thurber, was born Nov. 26, 1909, at Nelson, Nebr., and passed from this life Nov. 28, 1961, at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 52 years and 2 days. His early life was spent in and around Nelson where he was engaged in farming with his father. After his father's death in 1951, he moved to the Rupert, Ida., vicinity where he made his home. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1338, also a member of the Legion of the Moose, in Rupert. He was a kind and helpful brother and devoted his entire life to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and four brothers. He is survived by five brothers and two sisters, Vernon of Rupert; Floyd of Hazelton, Ida.; Archie and Virgel of Superior, Nebr.; Marvin of Nelson, Nebr.; Mrs. Edward (Irene) Nelson of Maxwell, Nebr.; and Mrs. Dallas (Marlys) Millard of Pocatello, Ida. Also surviving are 26 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Klawitter Chapel in Nelson, the Rev. I.L.
