Shaw, wife of Perry D. Lewis, was born in Fulton Co., Il., June 6, 1857 and died October 31, 1911, aged 57 years 4 months, and 27 days. To this union were born 6 children; 3 sons & 3 daughters; Phebe L., wife of F.E. Steinbrink of Elwood, NE, Anna G., wife of B.J. Carlisle of Elwood; Mary May, wife of Alex H. DeVinney of Stettler, Alberta, Canada, James R. of Edward, NE, and George H. and Oliver P. of Loomis. Those who are left to mourn their loss are mother, one sister, two brothers, husband and six children. Perry D. Lewis and Martha A. Shaw were united in matrimony at South Bend, Chase Co., NE, Jan 14, 1877 and moved to Phelps Co. in March 1883, where she had lived till her last illness. She had been a member of the Urbana Congregational Church for many years. Funeral services were held at the church Friday afternoon. Rev. Tweedy officiating.
