Description	:	Martha C. Neddenriep, 86, long time Gardnerville resident and former owner of Carson Valley Mercantile Store, passed away August 4, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Martha was born May 30, 1922, in Reno. She was raised by her grandparents in Smith Valley where she lived for most of her life and was very active in 4H. She graduated from Smith Valley schools and later attended Reno Business College. She worked several years in Smith Valley and later her husband of 56 years, Louis and her purchased the Carson Valley Mercantile which they operated for over 30 years.... Read More	Martha C. Martha was born May 30, 1922, in Reno. She was raised by her grandparents in Smith Valley where she lived for most of her life and was very active in 4H. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Francis Dewill Burke and Mary M. Schultz, and two brothers Tim and Charley Burke. Survivors include her husband, Louis (Luke); daughter, Katie Sarratea; sons, David and Douglas; sisters, Francis Anker and Lizz Carner and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment services will be held Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville. The family requests memorials to The Trinity Lutheran Church or Douglas County Historical Society. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden.
