She was born in Hinchinbrooke, Quebec, Canada, Sept. 5th, 1829. In 1837 she moved with, her parents to Sharon, Windsor county, Vermont, and two years later went to Clinton, New York. She was married in October 1846 to Mr. Norman Starks. In July 1854, Mr. and Mrs. Starks came west, first set- tling in Illinois, and then at Delona, Wisconsin, where they lived until 1864. On that date they removed to Monticello. This place has since been their home. Mrs. Starks and the husband who survives her, lived together in happy wedlock more than 54 years. She gave her heart to the Savior in early life, and lived a daily Christian life. She was a good mother and a devoted wife. Her greatest happiness came through her home work. Her husband and children appreciated her self sacrificing devotion, and did all they could to make her life burdens light. She went to her home with the joyful hope that is the lot of those who believe and trust the promises of their Master. Mrs. Starks is survived by six children, Mrs. Alfred Starks, Mrs. W. A. Overing Sr,, Albert, Fred, Eunice and May, all residents of Monticello. Two of her .children, Joel and Charles, proceeded her to the great beyond. The funeral services were conducted at the family residence, last Sabbath afternoon, by Rev. W. M. Lemen of the Methodist Episcopal church. Hello, not my family but researching for someone else.
