Description	:	Martha Edinger was born in Odessa, Beseran, Russia on Saturday November 27, 1897 to Jakob and Elizabeth Mack Edinger and came to this country with her mother and sisters: Lydia, Maria (Mary): and brothers: August, Johann (John), and Karl Charles when she was five years old. The family migrated from the Port Of Bremen, Odessa, Russia and arrived in the Port of New York, New York on August 18, 1903 on the ship Kaiser Wilhelm II. Martha's father preceeding her in death, he died in the war, in Russia. Marthga was married on Friday December 15th, 1916, to Harry Franklin Bell. To this union was born on April 22, 1918, a baby girl, Etta Lucille Bell, from which she never regained health. All the love and care that skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play, but all in vain. Martha passed away on Wednesday June 12, 1918. at St. Alexius hospital at Bismarck, Burleigh Co, North Dakota. Martha was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her way so that friendship's circle to her was a large one. Indeed, it may be said of her, that "none knew her but to love her." For upon the white canvass of her life she drew no lines which needed to be erased. And with the hand of a master she delicately spread the colors of life and made them blend with promise. The last services were held at the Congregational church at Elgin at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Haas of Leith officiating. Songs were touchingly rendered by the choir. The flowers were many and beautiful, but not more beautiful than the face that rested among them. A large number of friends and sorrowing relatives followed the remains to the Elgin cemetery, where interment was made. She leaves behind, her husband Harry, an infant daughter Etta Lucille, three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Bettner (Christ) Kreis of Washington, Mrs. Mary Edinger (Fred) Voll and Mrs. Lydia Edinger (Jacob) Weber of Elgin.
