Williams, of Davenport, Iowa, was born February 7th, 1897, near Tipton, Ia., and in the unequal struggle for life was overcome and returned to her Maker on the night of December 30, 1925, at 12 o'clock, in El Paso, Texas, where she and her husband were residing for the benefit of her health. Williams, of Davenport, Iowa, was born February 7th, 1897, near Tipton, Ia., and in the unequal struggle for life was overcome and returned to her Maker on the night of December 30, 1925, at 12 o'clock, in El Paso, Texas, where she and her husband were residing for the benefit of her health. At the age of 28 years, 10 months and 25 days her life was exacted as another bit of toll to the great white plague, tuberculosis. Surviving her, besides her parents, are her two brothers, Everett and Harold, of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters Mrs. Swain Donsted of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Howard McGillvary of Davenport, Iowa; her aged grandfather, Mr. Theodore Williams, veteran of the Civil War, as well as many other relatives and friends far and near, her death being the first break in the family circle. Her schooling consisted of a course in the Tipton Public Schools and in Brown's Business College of Davenport, Iowa. An apt, bright student, her native abilities were readily developed and in various positions of trust which she held from time to time, she acquitted herself most creditably and honorably, and with attentive persistance she successfully accomplihsed her undertakings. Later opportunity being offered, she faithfully devoted her efforts to the study of music and the cultivation of her voice at Cornell College Conservatory of Music and the Chicago College of Music. Developments along this line revealed the special gifts of God to her, and were only checked by the ravages of the dread disease which already had made its presence known and which finally resulted in her untimely demise. On the 21 day of January, 1919 she was united in marriage with Ralph M. Reeder of Tipton, Iowa, at the Methodist Parsonage in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Shortly after her marriage she transferred her membership from the Reformed Church to the Methodist Episcopal Church of Tipton, Iowa. She had a deep religious nature and clung to her faith with an unfaltering trust. In the last few weeks of her earthly existance when she knew that she was passing through the shadow of the valley of death, she was never alone; and while others came and went and ministed unto her, she relied solely upon the presence of the God who had revealed himslef unto her to carry her into the Great Unknown. Kind friends assisted the bereft husband in brief services of respect at the undertaking chapel at El Paso, Texas, which were conducted by Dr. Sweetland, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church.
