Description	:	Martha Elizabeth Norman, daughter of Day C. and Elizabeth (Norman) Woodford, was born February 4, 1913 at Chester, Nebr. and passed away September 20, 1964 at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 16 days. Martha was added to the Church of Christ; on February 28, 1928 she was baptized by the Rev. Willard McCarthy. On her seventh birthday Martha contracted meningitis, which left her a semi-invalid and later bedfast in her home for nearly twenty years. She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1945, and is survived by her mother and step-father, Ernest Woodford; one brother, J.D. of York, and his wife, Mary; and one sister, Zora Mae Messman, and her husband, Kenneth, of Chester; four nieces, three nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Chester Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 22, the Rev. Millard White officiating. Singers were Mrs. Wilbert Crouse and Mrs. John E. Crouse with Mrs. Harold Crouse, accompanist. Pallbearers were Clarence Palmer, John E. Crouse, Wilbert Crouse, Claude Canning, Harley Howell, and Alvie Stierwalt. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
