Woodford, daughter of John and Elizabeth Wetzel Duey, was born October 18, 1889 at Carlisle, Pennsylvania and passed away February 26, 1984 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 4 months and 8 days. Elizabeth attended Chester Public Schools in Chester, Nebraska. Her mother died when she was three years old, and she was raised by Aunt Martha and Uncle Martin Duey. Elizabeth attended Chester Public Schools in Chester, Nebraska. Her mother died when she was three years old, and she was raised by Aunt Martha and Uncle Martin Duey. She was united in marriage to Day C. Norman on December 6, 1910 and to this union three children were born, J.D., Martha and Zora Mae. Mr. Norman passed away November 13, 1945. She was united in marriage to Ernest O. Woodford on February 8, 1961 and Mr. Woodford passed away October 25, 1973. Elizabeth was a lifetime resident of the Chester community, she was a homemaker, and devoted many years in the care of her invalid daughter, Martha. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Chester, Nebraska, and belonged to many organizations in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Day C. Norman and Ernest O Woodford, one daughter, Martha Norman, one daughter-in-law, Mary Norman, three brothers, Jacob, Amos and Charles Duey. She is survived by one son, J.D. Norman of York, Nebraska, one daughter, Mrs. Zora Mae Messman and husband (Kenneth) of Chester, Nebraska, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Chester, Nebraska on Wednesday, February 29, 1984, at 2:30 P.M., conducted by Reverend Herman Trauernicht. Frieda Truss provided special organ music. Pall bearers were Philip Corkill, Jr., Tom Norman, William Messman, Don Wassom, Kale Brokesh and George Cramton. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery.
