In 1870, her parents and 6 older siblings resided in Buffalo, Rockbridge Co., VA per the census. On the 1880 Kerrs Creek, Rockbridge Co., Virginia census, I found miller Jno H. Rapp, with his arm off, 52; other Rapps: wife Elizabeth, 45; sons or daughters: Samuel A, 9; MARTHA J, 7 and Nannie V, 1, all Virginia born. On 26 Dec 1893, McClung Patton Harlow, 23, born in Rockbridge, VA, the son of W A and M E Harlow, registered to marry Martha Jane Rapp, 20, born in Rockbridge, VA, the daughter of J H and Elizth J Rapp, in Rockbridge Co., VA. Per the Rockbridge Co., VA Marriage Register, Familysearch transcription. On the 1910 Roanoke Melrose Ward, Virginia census, I found carpenter McClung Harlow, 40 and wife of 16 years, MATTIE Harlow, 37, had no children, both Virginia born. Seeking her father John H Rapp: In Jan and Feb 1887, there were several Commissioner's Notices for John H Rapp and wife, Plaintiffs vs Wm Conners, et al, in the Rockbridge County News which culminate in the next paragraph. Was he her father, brother or John A Rapp? Father, brother or John A? John H Rapp lived in Kerrs Creek: HOUSE AND LOT AT AUCTION. By virtue of a decree rendered In the chancery cause of John H. Rapp against Wm. Conner and others, now pending in the Circuit Court of Rockbridge, and as special Commissioner thereby appointed. However if he died between 1896-1911 they weren't recorded in Virginia. Also, could not locate an obit for him in Virginia papers. Her father was not the John Rapp in the 1907 and 1909 clippings in the Rockbridge Co. News or Lexington Gazette. This John A Rapp was also a miller from the Buffalo Twp. or Swoope.
