Description	:	PICARD, MARTHA MARIE—Martha Marie Schultz was born June 7, 1877, at South Bend, Ind., where she grew to womanhood. At the age of twenty-one she moved with her parents to Kenesaw, Neb. April 1, 1900, she was married to Fred P. Read More	PICARD, MARTHA MARIE—Martha Marie Schultz was born June 7, 1877, at South Bend, Ind., where she grew to womanhood. At the age of twenty-one she moved with her parents to Kenesaw, Neb. April 1, 1900, she was married to Fred P. Picard, to which union two children were born, Naomi Lea and Fred Jr. Later Mr. and Mrs. Picard went as pioneers to Oklahoma and homestead near Lawton, remaining there approximately two years, and then it being Mrs. Picard's desire to return to Nebraska, they moved in 19104 to Geneva, where Mr. Picard engaged in business and where they have since resided. Mrs. Picard died at Geneva, Neb., October 26, 1935, at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 19 days, leaving in sorrow her stricken husband, daughter Naomi and her husband James McCarthy; her son Fred Jr., and wife Margaret, the grandchildren, Fred Picard Jr; Martha Marie Picard, and James McCarthy Jr., her aged mother, Mrs. Ernestine Schultz of South Bend, Ind., and a brother, Harry Schultz of Central City, Neb., and many neighbors and friends, who grieve with them. Mrs. Picard was small in body, but large in spirit, not much given to outside interest, the outstanding characteristic of her life, a most noble one, being her devotion to her family and home. She was a helpmate to her husband in a very real sense and sacrificially devoted to him and to her children and grandchildren who have suffered irreparable loss in her parting. Funeral services were held at her late residence in Geneva, Tuesday, October 29, at 2 o'clock, being conducted jointly by Rev. W. H. Sheaf of the Methodist church and Rev. E. W. Day of the Congregational church. The flowers were many and beautiful, bearing eloquent testimony to the love and esteem in which she was held. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
