Dirrim, who died at her home in this city, Tuesday afternoon, held at the Methodist Church at two o’clock, were attended by a large number of friends, and the church was completely filled with Villisca residents. Weber, and Clifford English. Martha Metcalf was born September 4, 1851 in Ashland County, Ohio and on February 11, 1875 she was married to F. M, Dirrim and the same year came to Iowa and settled on a farm nine miles southwest of Villisca where they lived until 1899 when they moved to Villisca. To Mr. and Mrs. Dirrim were born three sons, Bert, Ray, and Guy, who with the husband are left to mourn the passing of a devoted wife and mother, She is also survived by one sister and two brothers living in Ashland, Ohio. She united with the Methodist Church at Cramer Chapel in 1884, later bringing her letter to the Methodist Church at Villisca of which church she was faithful member at the time of her death. She was deeply interested in the work of the church and always attended the services when her health and the weather permitted. She was usually present at Sunday School and for several years was a teacher in the Sunday School. She was faithful to the prayer meeting and inspired others by her testimonies. Mrs. Dirrim was an active worker in the Ladies Aid society and for several years she has been a devoted member of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society, interest in the work of the Kingdom of the foreign field as well as at home. Mrs. Dirrim was beloved by all who knew her and may hearts are sad because she is gone. She was an idea neighbor and all Villisca extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. “Her Toil is past, her work is done, And she is fully blest.
