Description	:	Second wife of Elijah. Married 17 Aug 1869 Martha Mourer was born in Coles County, Illinois, October 29, 1847. She died at her home in Geneva, Nebr. October 17, 1931, aged 83 years 11 months and 18 days. She was married to Elijah Archer August 17, 1869. To this union were born six children, one child dying in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Archer were with the first settlers to come to Fillmore County, having come here in the fall of 1871. They homesteaded six miles southeast of Geneva. She died at her home in Geneva, Nebr. October 17, 1931, aged 83 years 11 months and 18 days. She was married to Elijah Archer August 17, 1869. To this union were born six children, one child dying in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Archer were with the first settlers to come to Fillmore County, having come here in the fall of 1871. They homesteaded six miles southeast of Geneva. They resided on the same farm til 1909, when they moved to Geneva, where Mr. Archer passed away in March, 1910. April 8, 1918, she was married to D. H. McDermet, who survives her. She also leaves three daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Laura Chadd of Enid, Ok., Mrs. Ike Lightbody of Geneva, John L. Archer of Cairo, Neb., Mrs. Annie Anderson of Geneva and Frank Archer of Alexandria, Neb. She is survived by one sister and one brother. There are eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren left to mourn her departure. She belonged to the W. R. C. and the W. C. T. U. and has been a member of the Untied Brethren church for the past fifty years. She was always willing to do her part. She has been a great sufferer for the past four years. Funeral services were held in the United Brethren Church in Geneva at 2:30 p.m. Monday and were conducted by Rev. E. H. Pontius. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. *at the time of her death, her last name was McDermet. She is buried next to her 1st husband. The Nebraska Signal 22 October 1931 front page.
