Description	:	Mrs. James B. Sneath The subject of this sketch was born in Motgan County, Illinois, Dec. 20, 1838, an died at her home in Bentonsport, Feb. 28, 1916, age 77 years, 2 months and 8 days. At the age of 10 months she came with her parents to the vicinity of Hillsboro, where Martha grew to young womanhood and on the 8th day of May, 1856, was united in marriage to James B. Read More	Mrs. James B. Sneath The subject of this sketch was born in Motgan County, Illinois, Dec. 20, 1838, an died at her home in Bentonsport, Feb. 28, 1916, age 77 years, 2 months and 8 days. At the age of 10 months she came with her parents to the vicinity of Hillsboro, where Martha grew to young womanhood and on the 8th day of May, 1856, was united in marriage to James B. Sneath, whose devotion and helpfulness through 60 years of companionship was beautiful to witness. Thirteen children blessed this union, 2 dying in infancy. The 8 daughters, with of the exception of Mrs. Neva Toops who resides at Milton and is dangerously ill, have been privileged to pass the last days at her bedside of their devoted mother, bestowing upon her the most tender care and careful nursing. Twenty years ago they retired from farm life, locating at Bentonsport, where in the quiet sanctity of her home she formed valued friendship and proved a most generous hearted friend, and when in health and in her affliction of ill health in her declining years she patiently waited the call of her master. Mrs. Sneath early in life united with Friends church at Cedar, their former home, and always retained her membership, living ever a consistent Christian. It was a request made often during life to be taken back to the old home after death. Every wish was gratified, the funeral being conducted from the Baptist Church at Hillsboro, March 1. Rev. Carroll's tribute to the deceased. Beautiful flowers covered the casket. Mute expressions of sympathy from Hillsboro Rebekah lodge, the W.M.S., the R. N. A. and Des Moines relatives and friends. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers. Surviving are Mrs. Vina Runyon, Bentonsport, Mrs. Anna Cotton, Mrs. Mary Young Hillsboro, Mrs, Nellie Garmoe, Salem, Susie Leeper, Noble, Iowa, Lizzie Edwards, Yarmouth, Iowa, Neva Toops, Milton, Iowa, Louise Coolidge, Des Moines, Iowa, James Sneath, Jetmore, Kansas, Henry Sneath, Denver, Colo, John Sneath, Davenport, Iowa, on only sister Mrs Rosetta Holmes, Mt. Zion 3 brothers Scott Odell, Keokuk, James and Larry Odell, Hamilton, Ill. 41 grandchildren and 14 great grand- children lovingly cherish her memory
