Services will be Monday at 2 p. m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Scotia. The Rev. Paul Kern will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Mrs. Stanger was born Oct. 19, 1908 in Greeley County near Scotia to Chris and Frieda Sommer Klein. She grew up near Scotia and attended the consolidated school at Scotia, where she graduated in 1927. On March 19, 1931, she married John Stanger at Jansen. The couple farmed in the Fish Creek area near Scotia for six years before moving to the Horace area north of Scotia, where they farmed for ten years. They farmed on Mrs. Stanger's family farm for the next six years, and then bought a farm southwest of Scotia. They farmed there until retiring in 1977. They then moved into town. Mrs. Stanger was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, its Bible study group and its sewing circle. She had been a member of the Scotia Municipal Band. Survivors include her husband, John of Scotia; two sons, Gene of Topeka, Kan., and Gerald, of Omaha; two grandchildren and one sister, Addie Langenheder. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Raymond; one sister, Ella Malottke; and one brother, Herbert Klein.
