McDonald died at her son's, Jim McDonald, on Brush Creek recently from the effect of a cold caught through exposure, she was 90 years old. She was born in Illinois and immigrated with her parents to this country in early territorial days. At the age of 13 years, she was married to McDonald. They reared a large family. Her husband died about 1880. She had been a good Christian since early youth and was a steadfast member of the Baptist Church. In the latter days of her life she was a very interesting person to the young people of the community who would gather at her home to listen to stories of privations and dangers of pioneer life in this section when the country was young and when the panthers screamed nightly on the edge of the clearing. Everyone felt sorrowful at the news of her death but let us not forget that her death is only the prophecy of the glorious possibilities of a future perfect rest and to realize this blessing has cost her nearly a century of merited effort.
