Pleasant, Tennessee entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Maury Regional Medical Center of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. He was born October 11, 1928 in Pitkin, Louisiana to the union of James Finwick and Dealy (Ray) Thompson. Martie was married to the love of his life, Billie (Williams) Thompson on June 11, 1956. He was a retired Millwright and member of Carpenter’s & Millwright Local #764. Martie loved his family with all his heart. He raised his children with a deep faith in Christ as our Savior. He was a Choir Leader with his wife, who played the piano, at Occupy #1 Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel Peters and Amy Johnson. Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of 58 years, Billie Thompson of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; two sons, Ricthie (Donna) Thompson and Marty F. Thompson, both of Bossier City, La. one daughter, Kathy Spencer of Conway, Arkansas; step-daughter, Pam Fudge; one sister, Betty Johnson of Pitkin; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Micah Thompson, Micah Seth Thompson, Neil Thompson, Kolby Friday, Truman Friday, and Richard Ardoin. Visitation will begin Monday, March 16, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., then on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 1 p.m. until service time in the chapel at 2 p.m.
