Stork was born March 4, 1916 in Orum, Nebraska to August and Maria (Kroeger) Stork. He grew up in Washington County, Nebraska. After graduation from Bisbee School, he attended an agricultural trade school on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for one year. He was a farmer north of Arlington. Mr. Stork was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served on various boards and held church offices. He was a long time member of the Lutheran Layman’s League. He moved into Arlington in 1996 and then to Fremont in 2002. He married Emma H. Wiig on June 27, 1944 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They were blessed with a son and a daughter. Mr. Stork was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served on various boards and held church offices. He was a long time member of the Lutheran Layman’s League. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Del and Roxie Stork of Lincoln; daughter, Marsha Stork of Lincoln; two grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Fern Stork of Arlington. Sadly, his wife Emma died Feb. 17, 1982. Martin entered eternity Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at his home in Fremont. He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister, Viola Dunklau and an infant sister. Left with memories are son, Del (and wife, Roxie) Stork of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Marsha Stork of Lincoln; a brother, Harlan (and wife, Fern) Stork of Arlington; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:30-8 pm Sunday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with family receiving friends 1:30-3 pm. The funeral for Martin C. Stork, 89, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The Rev. Rick Kanoy will conduct the service and offer words of comfort. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
