On April 19, 1911, he married Maria Kroeger in Beemer, NE. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter. On June 5, 1917, this tall, slender, gray-eyed young man with dark brown hair walked into the draft registration office for World War I. He requested an exemption, because of his wife and children. Stork, 91 November 18, 1889 ~ January 21, 1981 August P. was born November 18, 1889 near Orum, Nebraska to William and Anna E. Stork. On April 19, 1911, he married Maria Kroeger in Beemer, NE. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter. On June 5, 1917, this tall, slender, gray-eyed young man with dark brown hair walked into the draft registration office for World War I. He requested an exemption, because of his wife and children. He was farming in Lincoln Township,Washington County, Nebraska. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington where he served as an elder for many years. He also was past president of the Concordia Mutual Insurance Company. He farmed until his retirement in 1946, when he moved to Arlington, Nebraska. FUNERAL IS HELD SATURDAY FOR AUGUST STORK Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington for August P. Stork, who died from injuries received in a semi-car accident on January 21, 1981. Rev. Robert Backhus officiated. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Marie. Left with memories are two sons, Martin C. Stork, Arlington, and Harlan Stork, Blair; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Dunklau, Arlington; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
