Hember Martin Heming Hember, son of Nils and Nellie Hember, was born o January 3, 1876 near Gibson City in Ford County, Illinois. In the spring of 1878 they moved to Seward county (sic), Nebraska, and one year later they moved to a farm near Albion in Boone county (sic), Nebraska, where Martin and a brother Albert, grew to manhood. Martin graduated from Albion high school in 1894 and taught one term of public school before he attended the University of Nebraska in the years 1895, 1896 and 1897. He was united in marriage to Emma J. Nelson of Verona, Nebraska on August 7, 1901 and located on a farm north of Verona, Nebr., where he lived until he retired from active farm work in 1930. His wife passed away on November 1929. He passed away on January 9, 1947 at the age of 71 years, 6 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Albert E. Hember of Grimes, Iowa, a son, Irwin M. Hember of Kansas City, Kansas, a daughter Eunice Beattie of Saronville, Nebraska and a daughtor (sic), Irma Olson of Swisshome, Oregon. There are six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Saronville on Sunday, Jan. 12, 1947 at 2:30 with Rev. Hull in charge. Rev. Watson delivered the message. Interment was in the family lot in the Verona cemetery (sic). Out-of-town relatives who attended the funerad (sic) were his brother and nephew Ivan of Grimes, Iowa; Roy Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nelson and Dale Nelson of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Iven Nelson and son of McPherson, Kans., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wolfe and children and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnon (sic) of Hastings and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Hember and family of Kansas City, Mrs. Orville Olson of Swisshome, Ore.
