Hayes OH. He received basic training at Ft McClelland, AL and advanced training at Ft Riley, KS. His Military Occupational Specialty was, Ammunition Bearer 505; Squad Leader 745. Overseas duty included service in the Philippines and Japan. He was honorably discharged from the US Army on 18 NOV 1946 at Ft Sheridan, IL. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal from Japan. CPL Martin J Hines died on Dec 19, 1986 and is buried at Rose Hill Burial Park in Clark Co Oh.
