He was born March 8, 1924, the son of Francis J. and Clara C. Demel Finger. A longtime rural Rozel resident, he was a farmer and stockman. He belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, Knights of Columbus Lodge, Kinsley and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Larned. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Other survivors include: five sons, Donald, Quinter, Edward, Andover, Marvin Jr., Eugene, Ore., Stan, Wichita, and Steven, Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Mary Mitchell, Olathe, Trish Stacey, Hutchinson, and Beverly Biehl, Frisco, Texas; two brothers, Leonard, Larned, and Francis Jr., Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters, Carolyn Urban, Salina, Catherine Kuhlman, Turmbull, Neb., and Mary Lou Wheeler, Great Bend; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Marie Phillips and Dorothy Cavenah. Parish vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund, Father Emil Kapuan Guild, or to the Pawnee County 4-H Foundation, all in care of the funeral home.
