Johnson were held Tuesday afternoon. The deceased passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hardy Roop, Middleton, and the services here were participated in by Rev. W.R. Turner, who had charge of them and Rev. Peter A. Walker and Rev. G. W. Guiou. Mrs. Guiou sang a solo. The pallbearers were three sons, Wylie, Alvin, Almon and son-in-law, Hardy Roop. The floral tributes were very lovely. Interment was in the Torbrook United Church Cemetery, the old home burying place, where a large concourse of folk were present. The choir of the church led the music and a duet and quartette was also sung. The old favourite hymns "Lead Kindly Light," "Abide With Me," and "Asleep in Jesus" were sung. Rev. Mr. Turner, former pastor of this circuit preached an appropriate sermon and the Rev. Mr. Walker assisted in the service. Same paper on Page 2 - Mrs. Ada M. Johnston - The death of Mrs. Ada M. Johnston occurred on Monday of this week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. Roop, Middleton, after a severe illness. Mrs. Johnston before marriage to Joseph W. Johnson was Ada M. Uhlman. Mr. Johnston predeceased her twenty years ago. The greater part of their married life was spent in Torbrook. They reared a family of nine children all but one being at her funeral. Six of them are in Massachusetts, Mrs. C.E. Kingsbury in Leominster, Wylie J. and Alvin also in Leominster, Mass., Mrs. Frank Weldon and Borden Johnston in Lexington, Mass., Mrs. J. Bagley in Albor. Mass., William lives in Nictaux. Mrs. F.H. Roop lives in Middleton. The youngest boy, Almon is on the home place in Torbrook. For some time Mrs. Johnston has been in poor health and passed away at her daughter's home where she came a week ago. The funeral took place Tuesday from her church in Torbrook, being conducted by Rev. W.R. Turner, a former pastor, assisted by Rev. Peter Walker. She was a good woman who bore her troubles with fortitude and whose children rise up and call her blessed. Note: The newspare items have her as Johnstone and Johnston, but her name was Johnson.
