Her home was at 313 West Fifth street. She was born on March 9, 1854, at Zanesville, O., the daughter of John and Eliza Applin Chown. Read More	Mary Alice Foster Muscatine Journal Mrs. Alice Foster, 91, died at 5 p.m. Sunday at Bellevue hospital following an illness with a complication of ailments due to advanced age. Her home was at 313 West Fifth street. She was born on March 9, 1854, at Zanesville, O., the daughter of John and Eliza Applin Chown. She came to this community in 1857 in a covered wagon and had resided here since. Her marriage to William Foster occurred on April 6, 1877, in Muscatine. She was a member of the High Prairie Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Frank and Carl Foster, route 5; two daughters Mrs. Rudolph Geertz, Muscatine, and Mrs. H. B. Leyda, Burbank, Calif.: seven grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, two daughters, two brothers, one sister and one grandchild. The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals where it will remain for services to be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday by the Rev. Judson Perkins, pastor of the Musserville Methodist church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Pall Bearers; Louis Chown, Robert Chown, Howard Green, Roy Littrell, Will Goldsberrry, Wayne Eichelberger .
