She departed this life Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska at age 84. She attended Antioch School and then helped her father, as her mother died when she was 6 years old. She also helped care for other children and the elderly. They lived on farms near Blue Hill and later moved to Hastings to retire. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Altar Society. She had also taught CCD classes. Mary is survived by son Alan & wife Heather Witte, Hastings; daughters Ann & husband Edward Krontz and Ronda & husband Jeff Hinrichs, Hastings, Marilyn & husband Roger Alber, Blue Hill, Linda & husband Dave Duncan, Franklin, Kathleen Woodward, Grand Junction, Colorado; brother Frankie & wife JoAnn Kosmacek, Jansen, Nebraska; sisters Agnes Haba, Lawrence, Dorothy Kosmacek, Glenvil; sister-in-law Rodie Kosmacek, Kennesaw, Georgia; 17 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald (October 30, 1989) and brothers Joe and Rudy Kosmacek. Rosary was held Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel, Blue Hill. Mass was held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Blue Hill with the Very Rev. James Schrader and Monsignor Ivan Vap Officiating. Burial was in the Blue Hill Catholic Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Memorials can be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the American Heart Association. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska was in charge of arrangements.
