Description	:	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mary Alma Durham George, age 91, of Westfield, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Danbury. She was born October 22, 1921 in Stokes County to the late Joseph Manuel Durham and Mary Cardwell Durham. Mrs. George was a homemaker and a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Linda & David Gibson of Westfield, NC and Kathie McKinney of Westfield, NC; grandchildren, Rebecca & husband Jody Dellenback of Westfield, NC and Matthew & wife Erika McKinney of La Grange, GA; special niece and nephew,... Read More	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mary Alma Durham George, age 91, of Westfield, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Danbury. She was born October 22, 1921 in Stokes County to the late Joseph Manuel Durham and Mary Cardwell Durham. Mrs. George was a homemaker and a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Linda & David Gibson of Westfield, NC and Kathie McKinney of Westfield, NC; grandchildren, Rebecca & husband Jody Dellenback of Westfield, NC and Matthew & wife Erika McKinney of La Grange, GA; special niece and nephew, Margaret Simmons and Wayne George and several other special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband, Dan George; sisters, Ina Slawter, Rachel Hunter, Hallie Simmons, Ethel Collins & Irene Lindamood and brother, Otis Durham. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Mountain Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Rickey Rogers and Rev. Eddie Carter with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. George will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Howell-Nelson Funeral Service of Pilot Mountain. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family would like to give special thanks to the CNAS, nurses and entire staff at Pioneer Community Hospital of Danbury for their care and support.
