Description	:	In Loving Memory Of MARY ANN BIVANS Mary Ann Gaines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Gaines, was born in Tassell County, Illinois, August 25, 1870, and passed away at the home of her son, Wilbur Bivans, in Pleasantville, Iowa, on March 12, 1960, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 12 days. Read More	In Loving Memory Of MARY ANN BIVANS Mary Ann Gaines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Gaines, was born in Tassell County, Illinois, August 25, 1870, and passed away at the home of her son, Wilbur Bivans, in Pleasantville, Iowa, on March 12, 1960, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 12 days. She had made her home here with her son for 27 years. On August 20, 1888, Mary was united in marriage to Thomas Bivans, who preceded her in death in 1933. To this union were born six children; John, Rhoda and George, all of whom died in infancy; twin sons, Wilbur and Walter, and a son Ira. As a young girl, Mary was baptized into the Free Methodist Church. Services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 15, at the Christian Church with Rev. Kent Borgaard officiating. Burial was at Swan. Throughout her good life she was know as a kind and loving mother, and one who could always be counted upon when her help was needed. Remaining to mourn her loss are her sons, Wilbur Bivans of Pleasantville, Iowa, Walter Bivans of Ackworth, Iowa, and Ira Bivans of Clearwater, Florida; two brothers, George Gaines of Stockton, Kansas, and Ira Gaines of Sterling, Colorado; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and other relatives; and many, many friends.
