Description	:	SPALDING — Mary Ann Henry, 85, of Spalding passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, with the Rev. Matthew Koperski officiating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery. Dolce-Scheef Mortuary of Spalding is in charge of arrangements. Mary Ann Henry, daughter of Cyril and Anna (Hartman) Haschke, was born Feb. 4, 1929, at Cedar Rapids. She attended Cedar Rapids Public Schools, graduating in 1945 with normal training and began teaching. On May 10, 1948, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Marcel A. Henry at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple made their home on a farm west of Spalding, where Mary Ann raised their children and taught school east of Spalding for a period of time. They moved into Spalding in 1984 when they retired from farming. Mary Ann enjoyed fishing with Marcel and playing cards. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill Henry of Abie and Jerry and Nancy Henry of McKenzie, Ala.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Katherine Henry of Omaha, Carol and Robert Rott of Grand Island and Molly Langemeier of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Haschke of Greeley; and many other relatives and friends. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mary Louise; a great-grandson, Taylor Craig; a daughter-in-law, Ila Mae McCellan-Henry; five brothers, Willie, Ray, Bernard, Harold and Leander; and two sisters, Sr. Dorothy Agnes and Wilma.
