Funeral services were held in Gering Wednesday, February 1, 1956 at the Dennis Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Hetzel officiating. Graveside services were held at the Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach on Thursday, with the Rev. Charles Shepard conducting the final rites. Mary Ann Horn was born August 13, 1875, at Wolbach, Nebraska. She and Giles Leslie Imus were married July 4, 1891. They lived in the Wolbach community until 1910 when they then moved to western Nebraska, living near Bayard, later moving to Gering, where they resided until the death of her husband, December 25, 1931. The remainder of her life she spent with her children. She was a member of the Christian Church of Gering, Nebraska and a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge since 1904. There were twelve children born to this union, of which eight survive. Preceding her in death were her husband, one son, Dewey, who died in 1932; and three, who passed away in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing five daughters, Jessie Lee of Tiller, Oregon, Gertrude Hanna of Rapid City, South Dakota; Elva Lackey of Minatare, Nebraska, Marguerite Lackey of Torrington Wyoming and Lavina Riley of Seattle, Washington; three sons, Chauncy and Ralph of Mitchell, Nebraska and Dorman of Henry, Wyoming; 48 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Attending the graveside services from a distance were Mrs. Gertrude Hanna, Rapid City, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncy Imus and Ralph Imus of Mitchell and Mrs. Charles Lackey of Torrington, Wyoming.
