Description	:	Mary Ann Baustert, 95, of St. Edward, NE, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Msgr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Mary was born February 21, 1922 in Alliance, NE to James and Vesta (Jackson) Mahoney. Her parents moved their family to Fullerton, NE when she was quite young. Following grade school, she worked at various jobs in Fullerton and St. Edward to help her family make ends meet. She started working for Dr. Sullivan in St. Edward when she was 17 years old and continued up to the time that she married. On February 14, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harold Joseph Baustert in St. Edward, NE. To this union were born two children, Dennis and Jane. Mary and her husband farmed near St. Edward. In addition, she worked for many years at the Cloverlodge Care Center, retiring in 1988. When Harold’s health began to fail, they moved their house into St. Edward. Mary is survived by her son: Dennis “Denny” & wife Nettie of Cody, WY; her daughter: Jane Siedlyk of St. Edward; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother: Leo Mahoney and wife Joan of St. Edward; one sister-in-law: Margret Mahoney of Bellevue, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her brothers Ray, Arnold “Bud”, Bob, Jack, Gene, Ronnie; sister Fern (Werner), son-in-law Mike Siedlyk and an infant granddaughter.
