Requiem mass will be read at 9 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Eugene T. Schumacher at St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Dec 22, 1961 - Carroll Daily Times - Mary Ann (Maye) Hamill, 68, died about 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Spieker Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the last 4 1/2 months. Requiem mass will be read at 9 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Eugene T. Schumacher at St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited al 3 p.m. Friday by the Legion of Mary; and at eight and nine o'clock Friday evening. Miss Hamill was born Nov. 16, 1893, in Carroll, a daughter of Patrick and Clara Hamill. With the exception of a few years spent in Des Moines, she spent her entire life in Carroll. She was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company; and at the time of her retirement in 1928 was chief operator. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Legion of Mary. For the past year she had been in failing health. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Miss Hamill is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Ernest Hall, Carroll; W.H. Hamill, Vancouver, Wash.; Charles Hamill, Omaha, Neb.; Esther Hamill, Carroll; Mrs. Verle Allison, Omaha; Norbert Hamill, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Warren Hamill, Des Moines. Dec 26, 1961 - Carroll Daily Times - Requiem mass for Mary Ann (Maye) Hamill, 68, was read at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at St. Joseph Church in Carroll by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Patrick T. Lynch, who also delivered the sermon. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where the Rev. Eugene T. Schumacher officiated. Pallbearers were Tom Finegan, Vincent Koenig, James Houlihan, Dan Riordan, Lawrence Reiff, and James F. Duncan. The Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Miss Hamill, a retired chief operator of Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, died Dec. 21 at the Spieker Nursing Home. Mrs. Verle Allison, Omaha, Neb., and Warren Hamill, Des Moines, came to attend the services for their sister.
