She came to the United States at the age of 19 to Scranton, Pennsylvania. It was there she met and later married Michael Halpin on June 30, 1873. It was their home for 9 years then to moved to a homestead southeast of Battle Creek and then in 1900 they moved to Norfolk. In her obit it states her parents were Michael and Mary (O'Conner) Halpin. The funeral will be held Wednesday. He was born September 24, 1843 at Callan, Kilkenny, Ireland. He married Mary Ann Connell* on June 30, 1875 at Scranton, Pennsylvania. They moved to Madison county, Nebraska in 1882 and farmed until 1890. He was survived by 4 daughters: Mrs. James Kent of Columbus, Mrs. Delia Lauver of Battle Creek, Mrs. Everett Pettitt of Norfolk, Mrs. A. O. Schramm of Pierce; 2 sons: M. L. of Winside and James of Los Angeles, California; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
