Complete obituary will appear in a later edition of The Telegram. -------------------------- The Columbus Daily Telegram, May 14, 1952 KENT--Last Rites for Mrs. Mary Kent On Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances Kent, 78, resident of Columbus for many years, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Roch Hettinger, pastor, will officiate. The body lies in state at the Gass funeral home and will be there till the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. today. Mrs. Kent, widow of the late James A. Kent, died Friday at a hospital in Ogden, Utah, following a lingering illness. She was born Jan. 8, 1873 in Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Mary O'Conner Halpin. During her early years she moved with her parents to Battle Creek, Neb., where she lived until her marriage to James A. Kent on Oct. 29, 1891 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Battle Creek. They farmed in Madison county until 1907 when they moved to Columbus. Mr. Kent passed away on Jan. 9 of this year. Mrs. Kent was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gladys K. Wikstrom of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Elsie K. Kierman of Redding, Cal., and Mrs. Celia K. Madison of Omaha; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Delia Lauver of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Katherine Schramm of Alameda, Cal.; and two brothers, James Halpin of Hawthorne, Cal., and Michael Halpin of Winside. Her husband, two sons, Stephen and Robert Kent, and two daughters, JoAnn and Mrs. Gertrude Pilcher, preceded her in death. ------------------------- The Columbus Daily Telegram, May 16, 1951 KENT--Services Held - Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church for Mrs. Mary F. Kent, 78, who died last Friday at Ogden, Utah. The Rev. Fr. Roch Hettinger, pastor, officiated and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery here. Pallbearers were: Fred Gerber, John Branigan, J.B. Tschudy, Tom McEnerney, Mike Scharwath and Carl Rohde.
