Description	:	MARY ANN STAFFORD CAPAROON (1814-1907) CAPAROON. Mary Ann Stafford was born September 6, 1810 in Kent County, Delaware, moving to Ohio in company with her brother in the year 1831, near Columbus. She was married to William Caparoon August 6, 1840. She was the mother of nine children, six of whom survive her, two boys and one girl having died in infancy. Read More	MARY ANN STAFFORD CAPAROON (1814-1907) CAPAROON. Mary Ann Stafford was born September 6, 1810 in Kent County, Delaware, moving to Ohio in company with her brother in the year 1831, near Columbus. She was married to William Caparoon August 6, 1840. She was the mother of nine children, six of whom survive her, two boys and one girl having died in infancy. They moved to Iowa in the spring of 1855, locating in Louisa County near Morning Sun, which place has since been her home. She was called to part with her husband December 5, 1861. She professed a faith in Christ and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in February, 1862, where she remained a faithful member until February 1881, when she united with the Free Methodist church. In this church she continued a faithful and consistent member until the morning of February 16, 1907, when she quietly fell asleep in Jesus, leaving a bright evidence that all was well. The family mourn her loss but not as those that have no hope. The funeral services were held at the residence of William Steele, where she had made her home for years, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. W. White of Morning Sun, to a large number of neighbors and friends, using as a test, Isaiah 38th chapter and last clause of the first verse. The remains were laid to rest in the Rice cemetery.
