Description	:	Wife of Hiram Henry and W. G. Lewis Mary Ann WOLFE Henry was born in January 31, 1831 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Jacob Wolfe and Eva Christina Sanders of Armstrong, Pennsylvania. She married Hiram Henry March 20, 1851 in Manor, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; and the following children were were born in Manor, Armstrong, Pa: Caroline Cummins Henry 1852-1941, Isaac Carlos Henry 1854-1928, David Henry 1856-1873 and Hiram Henry, Jr 1859-1926. Lewis Mary Ann WOLFE Henry was born in January 31, 1831 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Jacob Wolfe and Eva Christina Sanders of Armstrong, Pennsylvania. She married Hiram Henry March 20, 1851 in Manor, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; and the following children were were born in Manor, Armstrong, Pa: Caroline Cummins Henry 1852-1941, Isaac Carlos Henry 1854-1928, David Henry 1856-1873 and Hiram Henry, Jr 1859-1926. Their youngest child, Mary Ann Henry was born in East Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio and lived 1862-1936. Hiram Henry was enlisted twice during the Civil War, 1)in 1861 as a Private. 9th Pennsylvania, Company B, "Brady Alpines;" and again 2) in the Ohio 67 Reg.,Co. G. Ohio Infantry as a Corporal in 1862. He was killed in the siege of Fort Wagner, on Morris Island, in the Union's campaign for Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. He died 18 Jul 1863. His body was not recovered and long ago, was swept out to sea; a Civil War cenotaph has been place next to Mary Ann. Mary and her five young children left East Cleveland to homestead in Kansas, arriving in Empire, Ellsworth County in July 1869. Her homestead was for 160 acres, on the West half of Section 2, Township 14, South Range 6, 6th PM West; George Wilson Miller homesteaded the adjacent eastern section. George and Mary Miller's daughter, Elenora Mae, and Mary and Hiram Henry's son, Hiram Jr. married and farmed the land. Mary remarried William G Lewis in 1875. They lived in Scott, Lincoln County and in Beloit, Mitchell County until William Lewis died in 1895. William Lewis was the first Mulberry United Brethren Stone Church minister. Mary and William raised Isaac's young son, Elmer Edward Henry, following the death of Isaac's young wife, Hattie Burke due to typhoid fever at age 18. He continued living with his grandparents until Mary died in Salina, he then lived in Kern County, California. Following William Lewis' death, Mary lived in Salina closeby her grown children for the her remaining years. Thanks to FAG contributor Jann Henry for obituary.
