Description	:	FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Mary Anna Moore, 92, a resident of Michaux Manor, 11302 South Mountain Road, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the nursing home. Born Nov. 8, 1906, in Uniontown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jacob and Debbie Hewitt Hamburg Moore. She was a 1924 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She attended Waynesboro Business School and graduated in 1926. She attended Corcoran School for Art while living in Washington, D.C., from 1941 to 1944. Read More	FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Mary Anna Moore, 92, a resident of Michaux Manor, 11302 South Mountain Road, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the nursing home. Born Nov. 8, 1906, in Uniontown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jacob and Debbie Hewitt Hamburg Moore. She was a 1924 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She attended Waynesboro Business School and graduated in 1926. She attended Corcoran School for Art while living in Washington, D.C., from 1941 to 1944. She received numerous certificates for continuing education in art attending Hagerstown Community College while in her 80s. She worked for Geiser Manufacturing in Waynesboro as a secretary and bookkeeper. She then worked for a loan company in Baltimore. She also worked for various government agencies. She moved to Washington, D.C., in 1940 during World War II and worked for the Navy Department. Her last employment was at Fort Ritchie from 1955 until her retirement in 1966. She was a member of numerous art clubs including Waynesboro Studio Club. She received numerous awards and certificates for her portraits. While attending Corcoran School of Art, she received honorable mention in the Lehey Class. She is survived by one brother, Frank O. Moore, Sr. of Cascade and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elinor Reed Dubner and one brother, Fred Lewis Moore. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade. The Rev. Paul Tobias will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Smithsburg High School Art Department, 66 North Main Street, Smithsburg, MD 21783. Ashes spread on her parents graves. no tombstone.
