Shobe, 77, formerly of Neal, died Monday, Feb. 20. 1995, at the home of her son in Gardner. She was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Eureka, the daughter of Charles and Faye (Lillie) Sandberg. She was raised in the Eureka area and attended rural Eureka schools. She married Milton Stanley Shobe on Feb. 16, 1938, at Eureka. He died on Sept. 29, 1994. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The couple lived in Neal where he was a farmer and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Neal United Methodist Church and served as a member of the Pleasant Grove Township Election Board. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society fund drives for many years. She and her husband were co-founders of Fancy Mustangs 4-H Club. She was a cooking leader for the club. Survivors include a son, Raymond Shobe, and his wife, Carol, of Gardner; a sister, Freda Cross, Madison; and a grandson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka with the Rev. Willie Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka. Memorial in her name have been established with the Neal United Methodist Church, the Neal Community Building Fund and Lathe Hospice.
