"Sprout" Shobe Milton Stanley "Sprout" Shobe, of Neal, Kansas, died at his home near Neal on Thursday, September 29, 1994, at the age of 76. "Sprout" Shobe Milton Stanley "Sprout" Shobe, of Neal, Kansas, died at his home near Neal on Thursday, September 29, 1994, at the age of 76. He was born near his current home at Neal, Kansas, October 9, 1917, the son of Stanley Luther and Virgie (Wyant) Shobe. Sprout had been a lifetime resident of the Neal community, attending Neal schools and he was a graduate of Neal High School class of 1936. Milton was untied in marriage to Mary A. Sandburg on February 16, 1938 at Eureka, Kansas. To this union one son was born, Raymond, They made their home on the family farm, south of Neal, where Sprout was a farmer, stockman and oil field pumper. He was an active and faithful member of the Neal United Methodist Church and was a charter leader of the Fancy Mustang 4-B Club. He also served on the board of directors and held many offices for the Greenwood Count Farm Bureau and the A.S.C. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Carol Shobe of Gardner, Kansas; and one grandson, Chad Shobe. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 1994, at the Campbell- Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka, Kansas, with Reverend Willie Jones, Pastor of the Neal Untied Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Memorial have been established in his name with the Neal Untied Methodist Church and the Neal Community Building Fund.
